They’re known for their stylish, high performance athletic and leisure wear pieces that have been developed with cutting edge fabric technologies. We caught up with the man behind the brand, Nick Harris to tell you more…
1. Nick, tell us about your background and how you came to launch HPE Clothing?
My background is an Exercise Physiologist; I’ve worked for over 15 years with some of the world’s most elite sporting athletes – I help them hone both body and mind to succeed.
During this time, you discover that when you push the human body to its limits, every element of your training set up has an impact on how you perform including the clothes you wear. This is how human performance engineering® came about; I was passionate about creating a range of sportswear for men and women that had significant performance qualities at its heart but was also incredibly stylish.
2. We already know, but in your own words what makes HPE so special?
Whilst our styles incorporate beautiful shape, construction and comfort, our fabrics are unique and have been engineered with performance in mind; able to withstand the demands of any sport, climate or training environment.
We incorporate fabric technologies such as graded compression to support muscles and aid circulation as well as our signature FRESHFIT® fabric with superb sweat wicking qualities – also embedded with silver minerals to resist bacteria- essential in keeping you fresh and healthy.
We also have our super lightweight, XT-Air™ styles with silver static to help keep body temperature in its optimal range and our UV-Stretch™ styles – skin covered by this fabric will shield you from more than 97.5% of the sun’s harmful UV rays.

3. What else can we expect to see soon from one of the coolest new fitness wear labels around?
As a young brand we are constantly evolving and have lots happening. However, right now, we’re concentrating on expanding our offering for both men and women, so expect us to be hard at work in our lab, developing new styles and fabrics to be released later this year.
4. Tell us how the man that keeps top athletes in peak condition, keeps himself fit and healthy?
Ahh no big secret really, a balanced diet is key, combined with the gym at least 3 days a week. I travel a lot for work so wherever I am in the world I make sure I can always fit in an early morning run to kick start my day. When I’m in London I try and get in a few RealRyder sessions here too, legendary!
